Depending on the drug... they need serious help if its an actual addiction. i have friends that where miserable.. had to fight to stay clean.. and then got back into it.. then rehab and going to meetings finally worked for good.. lots of money though.. make sure they cant get anymore of it!!!!! tell them what there doing and that there strong enough to stop and that they have to.. help them motivate them, give them a reason to quit .. and make sure they stay clean.. not just back down |

I thought that was the whole definition of ministering to someone. Grabbing a bible and starting to judge. Guess they had me fooled. |

This depends a great deal on your relationship with that person, the area in which you live, how many people you know that also know this person, etc... If you would like to discuss it further, I am happy to tell you about 12-Step programs, but there's plenty of stuff online, too. |

I gave my friend who was struggling with alcohol my copy of "Diary of a Drug Fiend " by Aleister Crowley, and he has since mastered his addiction and is able to be a social drinker. The book did not turn him into a devil worshipper. |

I tell them about how religions were all based upon the use of drugs so it's nothing really to feel bad about, but that he needs to respect the holy spirits. |

Not to be too...harsh...but nobody can quit for you. I have a friend that tries to steer "do gooder " types to narc-anon or alanon, those being the groups for members of families with narcotics abusers or alcoholics in them. They teach how to be tough with the addict and not let the addict's problem spread beyond the smallest sphere possible (themselves, yes). What the addict needs is to get clean - ministering doesn't do that, it simply can't. |

Pray for him in the Holy Spirit and when you get the word of knowledge from Him then you can minister to the drug addict accordingly in His power. God bless you. |

Well I don't know how to minister to someone without using TRUTH and therefore not use the bible. However, I would suggest that the person find the root of the problem because it doesn't make sense to try and fix any problem anywhere else but at it's root or source of the issue. The person needs to find out the underlying causes of why they may do whatever it is they do and when do they find themselves doing it. When they figure this out they can figure out how to rid themselves of it, and how possibly to avoid situations that bring it on. Never Judge, Understand, Find Truth, Give Truth, Offer New Understanding based on truth. (good luck) |
