Question: Why would a agency that's trying to get people off drug addiction put those people on other addicting drugs? ?

Less harmful effects to your body. It is used to ween off of the heroin. Similar to a Tobacco Patch.

Methadone is used to ween people off heroin since the withdrawls are sometimes life-threatening. killing a drug addict solves nothing in the end. ive read a lot on ayhausca ((whichs natural)) and how it is the only thing that helped heroin-addicts to kick the habit. but, yep. its illegal in the usa despite this.
