Drug Addicts: Drug Addiction Facts

Question: What's true about drug addicts?

Do you think drug addicts have a certain "look " that makes them easy to identify? Or are most drugs addicts part of the homeless population? Either those 2, or drug addicts come from many different social backgrounds and income levels. What do you think?

I've known meth heads that came from the super rich neighborhoods. Just sayin' ..

I think it depends on what drugs they are taking. I mean drugs can make you nervous and anxious or maybe some addicts don't sleep and they have that "druggie " look to them. But I think drugs by alone can make you look like that too. I don't think it matters what your social background is. Rich or poor. But maybe poor people or people who live in run down neighborhoods might resort to drugs because of depression or people around them might be doing drugs.

Yes, there is a look. The look is different for marijuana users and hard drug users. It's in the eyes. Meth users develop sores on their skin as well, lose their teeth and age prematurely after consistent use. Meth is the killer. Most homeless people in north american cities use meth plus other drugs if they can get them. Meth is cheap. Drug addiction is less common in higher socio economic levels.

Drug users come from all walks of life. From the soccer mom pumping xanax to make it through her day to the busy dad taking over the counter caffine pills. The could be a banker who snorts cocaine or a school kid experimenting with pot. The fast food worker that drinks a case of beer every day after work to the countless millions on anti-depressants. Next time you walk down the street take a look around. Whether they are legal or illegal drugs, this nation is doped up on something 24/ 7.

As many pro athletes and movie stars as there are that are drug addicts, I cannot imagine why you would even ask this.
