Answerers please! Just because an addict reforms, it doesn't mean a trip to the vatican, becoming a rival to Mother Teresa, sporting a halo, etc.

Maybe some of them are unskilled in all else, but i think they do so because they dont want other people (kids) making the same choices and mistakes they did.....

It is because they know the best what a drug addict feels ar what are they going through..

Having hit rock bottom and emerging from that time and place has likely taught them a thing or two about compassion. not very many people have this life experience.

Experience - they know exactly what they are talking about and what the addict is experiencing. I guess they also feel they are giving something back.

Think its because they can use there first hand experience to help others not make the same mistakes they did,if you ve been there done it all and come through the other side still with your life in tact youll be an inspiration to other young or old drug users looking to get clean, that in its self will give you alot of credabilty when talking to other users.
